How much smaller will my PNG get?
For screenshots, flat graphics and UI assets, expect 25–35% savings. For photographs, 50–80% is typical. Transparent PNGs often shrink the most because WEBP’s alpha compression is more efficient. The savings depend heavily on the default 0.85 quality: raising it to 0.95 buys a marginally sharper image at the cost of a noticeably larger file, and dropping to 0.7 will save more but start to soften fine text.
